I don’t necessarily have writers block, it’s just that I have defeated myself and flunked my writing before I even sat down with a set of gifs and a martini. I have topics and ideas, and I like to say things and complain, but I don’t even write because before I even start, my question isn’t “what should I explore tonight?” but rather “what’s the point?” Which is an issue.

*Throw the laptop away* *Don’t give the martini away* *Take a book from the shelf* Emma Thompson informs my blogging routine.
It’s a little anxiety. It’s a lot of imposter syndrome. It’s a little search engine optimization. It’s a lot of “I’m 26 and I care more about my PS3 right now than anything else.”
I psych myself out on the big posts I want to do on how MOOCs are actually not Godzilla coming to destroy Tokyo University (I downloaded this bad boy today – “An Avalanche is Coming” – higher ed is so freaking paranoid that anything and everything is talked about in disaster speak rather than considered rationally.)

Sharknado on the Quad! Why, oh why, the beautiful quad!?
or trying to figure out why like 65.3% of higher ed professionals put the fact that they have a master’s in their twitter bio, or how I have to do breathing exercises because 83.6% of the arguments and evidence in College (Un)Bound is overgeneralized.
I get so caught up in needing to sound competent on those issues that I don’t even write, and then freak myself out so hard I can’t even write about the awesome, fun, and interesting smaller issues. But you know, whatever, blogging is a contact sport, and I like those, so I just need to keep at it, practice makes perfect, and hopefully I’ll make a point or two every now and then. But until I get to that point or two, have a gif.

He’s talking about blogging. Actually, that’s Richard Ayoade in Season 2 of “Gadget Man” talking about the outdoors I think.
I’m going to try to be better with blogging just like I’m trying to be better about health and fitness and stuff… because, you know, work/life balance is like the mostest important thing ever right now.
